question about LLL.com

Is there no more 3 letters or 3 number domains left to register?? if so how do you get them? do you have to buy them off of someone who has them registered?

there hasnt been any for a long long time, yeh youll have to buy them off someone thats already got one but your looking at $3k very minimum for an LLL.com but $10k for a better one. Not as sure about NNN.coms but there about $5k minimum i think

I think every 3 letter domain possible is taken. When a LLL expires/drops, it's snatched up a microsecond later.

there are no more LLL.com names available, and even if they were dropped, you can bet your bottom dollar that there would be an auction for it.
Your best bet is to buy it off someone, the minimum wholesale price of these LLL.com's are $3,200, but you might be lucky to get one under that.

If you can reg them and have the money, you should. You likely will never see one sell for $100 but a $20 profit beats nothing.

You are better off going outside to watch the grass grow. LLL's in most extensions are GONE.

So OP, if you CAN get these LLL's, do it. They'll be taken if you don't get them -- likely soon.

sorry if this is a dumb question but why are LLL's very much sought after?

is it because they can easily be an acronym of something or many people randomly type 3 letter when they're bored?

I'm just a newbie, just started reading the threads yesterday.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, along with LLL's are easy to remember and brand a site around.

all main extensions are recommendable to register. ccTLD(s) such as .uk, .de, .in, .tv, .us are the heavy hitters for the coming years. At the same time though, NamePros accounts for 49k domainers, i'm sure there are a few more out there and every single one is hunting the good domains, if you're starting just now, it's going to require some luck to find decent LLL.ccTLD(s). then again, it's never too late to try. If you have buying power, i'd suggest to go for a few high level domains, LLL.com(s) since their value is increasing faster than other extensions.

just though.

I admire your confidence. There is not even 1% chance to find a free one especially at the .com TLD. Save your time for something else

It's with absolute certainty impossible to find a 3 character .com in the wild, whether thats a LLL or NNN or any combination of. Some of the "exotic" ccTLDs show 3 character domains available, look at thread: -> http://www.namepros.com/available-do...able-list.html to get an idea. There are also a few more ccTLD(s) left that show 2 character DNs available. .VG would be one of these. (you can find these at iDotz.net) However, the reg and renewal costs are higher and the resale value lower, than the main TLDs.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=291858
If you're aiming to get a 3char .com, i'd register at SnapNames and "fasten my seatbelt". Since ALL 3 character main TLDs are back ordered multiple times over, they make it to public auction at snap....more than often it's [financially] not a pretty sight over there.

good luck
