208 pageview in a single day

hi

recently bought a new domain .. it is a LLN.net

i opened sedo and saw that it had 208 pageviews in a single day.. please tell me if that is normal for a LLN.net?? (that was my first premium domain)

also, how can i further investigate into the matter and know more about the views like there duration of stay , origin, referrer etc etc..

bought it from ebay if that makes any difference

throw your domain into some search engines and see what comes up. if it used to be established, then you should see some backlinks and you can figure out where the visitors are coming from. you could also throw it into archive.org and see if anything comes up. if you draw blanks on both, and your name doesn't really have any meaning, then it is likely a bunch of domainers seeing if your name is available for regging, lol.

yahoo and google show very few results.. only those that maybe the previous owner might have listed this domain for sale.. some chinese forums thats it

archive.org shows record of 2002,03,04,05 that it was parked at various places.. thats it

the interesting thing is that the traffic is distributed across the globe.. and not from some single country

most visitor counters can show you where the referrer is. sounds to me like your domain is getting type-in traffic from domainers... which isn't very useful unless you're looking to sell the domain.

also, can i create a dummy page and put some CPM ads? will they allow this?

do the cpm ad company's allow this kind of a traffic?

Well i have a domain that gets 250 views a month and it gets about 20 to 30 clicks.

i think the traffic has subsided now.. it is only 5-10 pageviews daily now with no clicks as usual..

i am still wondering how could i have got 208 pageviews
