How do you host web sites?

Not necessarily. If you have a computer and an internet connection you can host it on your own computer using a service like afraid.org or dyndns.

Yes. Just change the a records to your IP address in the domain name control panel or just use the IP address with your choice in server.

Buy webhosting from a reputable web hosting company, point your domains to the NS your webhosting company has provided and you are ready to go..

Note: It might take upto 24 hours (resolving time) before you can access your webhosting account after pointing the NS to your webhosting.

This is my personal recommendation if you only need a few features for a small site:

1. Register a name at Dynadot
2. Purchase hosting at Npserve.com (for small site)
3. Point Nameservers to NPServe's DNS
4. Cheer.

Make sure your ISP allows you to run a server too (check TOS)
