Every single time I ask for an appraisal of a domain, it drops to the bottom of the lake like a stone.

What am I doing wrong? Am I phrasing things wrong? Its really starting to get to me, I don't think I've ever gotten an appraisal on any site, not just this one. People just ignore me. Blah.

You hardly sound as if you would be grateful for an appraisal. Remember people here appraise your domains out of the goodness of their heart and so at least some gratitude could be shown.

Well don't take it personally. It's not just you, many requests for appraisal go unanswered.
Often lack of response is a response in itself. Perhaps the names were not so great or there was little to say. Good luck

As sdsinc said many appraisal requests pass the first page of the forum category very fast. It happens many times.

Don't let the the 'ghost' feeling discourage you. Re-try with the same or another name

Then consider this.. people who are popular here and have been around a while tend to get read by most members. So its like saying "hi member, hows it going today and oh yes nice name".

So one must contribute to the forum whenever a topic interests them and they will get known and by doing that when a post is made it will get read. Folks will want to contribute to it.

I have seen regular contributers post good names and crap names and it does not matter if the names are good or bad the poster gets a high percentage of responses.

So get involved and give your honest opinions and you will get help back in this forum as most here truly want to help if they can.

OK, you have a point on that one. It was a bit short. And obviously I am not on this board very often, I think I have close to 50 posts. This isn't a subject I am very knowledgable on, and am trying to learn. Other sites talk about this and other things, and I am able to contribute more.

I run a fairly good sized forum, and I try to treat every newb like he is someone who will be a major contributor to the site. I also reward my members who do the same.

But I understand that this is a massive board, and it really isnt possible to placate every Tom, Dick, and Harry who show up. Thanks for your help guys. I will keep reading and contribute where I can.

Oh man that is not a thing to worry about. I usually appraise many domains myself but sometimes my domains are not getting the appraisals.

Sometimes some names are so hard to appraise that people don't want to show what they have in mind. Some new people are also afraid to say something bad and then feel insulted in front of others. So it just happens. Lets carry on.
