Help! Domain Questions

I had a few questions regarding domain names:

- After 1 year of use, do I have to pay for it the next year?

- Will you host the domain or will I have to find a host myself?

Hello AVG - Welcome to NamePros

[1] Yes, after 1 year of registering the name, you will be prompted to renew your domain for another year [or more if you wish]. The cost of renewals vary, but usually cost the same price as the price you registered it for. Note, if you don't pay for it, it will be dropped, and it will be harder for you to pick it up to reg again.

[2] Depending on where you register the name, hosting usually does not come with the domain. Cheap registrars allow you to change NameServers, and you will have to provide hosting yourself. You can have another host, and use URL forwarding so when someone accesses your URL, it forwards to another host. There are many cheap hosts around where you can just host your domains there.

Domain Industry is pretty stable the last year and the cost for domain "renting" is dropped to minimum levels
Think about the profitability of your name. If you don't deal with internet too much it's better to register it for 2 or more year just to be sure you will not forget the renewal period

There are web hosting providers that offer you free domain name but i suggest to choose separately name and hosting provider for much better control over these two

Hi,
Domain prices are always for 1 year. You have to again renew it for next year. You can register a domain for upto 10 years if you dont want to renew it every year.

Very few reputed companies do provide hosting free with domain.

http://www.nxtdomains.com offers domain registration for $8.95/yr and gives free web hosting, web site builder, complete email package, total DNS management, domain forwarding, parking, locking and masking and also domain status alerts. They also provide Free $25 Yahoo search marketing credit coupon too!

You can also buy domain in bulk.

other registrars are as follows:
http://www.enom.com ($29.95/yr)
http://www.register.com ($35.00/yr)
