Godaddy.com is a good register with a low register cost. As for trying and then canceling, I can't think of any that are doing it now. I think registerfly.com does sometimes, so you can watch for it there; they also have alot of discounts and are low register cost. Use registerfly.com at your own risk, someone people love them, others hate them! Some for registerfly on namepros to here what people are saying about them. In the domain discusion area there is a thread for godaddy coupon codes to save you money.

My favorite Registrar is GoDaddy

GoDaddy.com is customer service oriented - you can call up 24/7 and get help with any issues. Also, if you go to google, type in "GoDaddy" for the search - you can than click the sponsored domain link and buy .com domains for 6.95 + .25 ICANN fee.

Just to add- Moniker allow testing of domains, don't believe godaddy do. Just to add my two cents, moniker are the best for me, am in the process of moving all my "keepers" there too.
