The only time I've transfered a domain (and it was an .eu one) I had to submit registration at the new registrar, (and pay a year's registration). Then both transferer and transferee (both me in this case) had to enter confirmation codes into Shlund's (1&1's registrar) website. Big hassle. | |

| NamePros Regular | my 2 cents Although I'm not a big fan of 1and1, I've never had an issue transferring the names I have/had w/ them. Typically anytime I sell a name at 1and1 the buyer (understandably) doesn't want to keep the name there, so once the sale is complete, the seller needs to unlock the name in their 1and1 control panel and 1and1 should automatically accept transfer requests at that point (not 100% sure for all the extensions, but true for .com/net for sure). Depending on the new registrar that is inititiating the transfer for the buyer, the seller may get an email that they need to forward to the buyer which will have all the info to finish the transfer. Hope this helps. |
