Is it necessary to LOCK domains

I have parked domains at SEDO .... I need to know whether I should LOCK them or leave them UNLOCKED ......

Any suggestions, will be appreciated !

You don't have to unlock them, just leave them locked and it'll be fine. One trick sometimes happens is that when you add new domains, sedo will go through a "checking" (verification of the ownership) process, sometimes you don't have to do anything at your registrars and the name will get approved and consequently be added. But other times (when the name is locked and name server pointed at places other than at sedoparking, plus several days have passed and sedo still can't verify the "ownership"), sedo will send you an email asking you to either unlock the name or change the name servers to sedoparking. It'll get approved fairly easily after doing this. And of course after it's approved you can just return it to the original settings or do anything you like.

Other than this tricky process, I think getting the domains locked is always safe to do

Someone can pretend they are you and transfer the domain.

The Truth about Unlock!

Does it matter? a little. The locking feature simply locks the domain from being able to be transfered away or pushed. It effectively locks it in the account. Nothing more. It can easily be turned on or off and most likely will only cause you grief and do little to protect you as someone would have to have access to the admin email in order complete the transfer anyway.

What do you mean by "hinder"? You can always park your domains even if they are locked. Just remember to lock them after changing name servers.

Always keep your domains lock & it does not have any affect on parked domains, it is just for security purposes. Actually, only Unlock the domain when you want to transfer it out to another registrar.

Lock it... so you won't be getting bogus transfer request by scamers who try to steal your domains. If you have it lock, they cannot start the transfer request.

Locking is a must in this industry.
No questions asked.
Once you buy or transfer a name that should be the 1st thing you do (well after changing the DNS -if needed)
