Content for Developing Domains

Hi All,

I have a question regarding developing domains.

Where do you get your content from? Assuming you may know nothing, to very little about the subject your domain is based off of, where do you find stories, articles etc.

Are there sites that offer content free of charge, or free with advertisement/link to their site?

I know there are poeple out there that I can pay to do write for me, but this early in the game I dont have tons of money...

You can try any/most article sites.

www.ezinearticles.com
www.goarticles.com

Or you can buy ready made article sites from around here.

Read the guidelines on those sites as you will always need to include the authours links.

I think it's always better to start with something you are familiar with and have sound knowledge. If you are planning to go ahead with something you are not an expert on, then hiring someone to write content for your site would be better as unique and original content is better than content taken from an article site, anyways that's just my opinion.

I agree it is better to write about something you are familiar with. If you're developing domains for traffic then it is also important to make sure you find in demand niche markets and keywords that people are going to search for.

However, for finding free content such as articles etc I use the following sites:

????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/domain-newbies/229101-content-for-developing-domains.html
>http://www.freesticky.com

If your wanting to pay someone to write your content for you then expect to pay anywhere from about $20 to $35 an hour for their time!

TIP: When I need content on a particular subject for some of my sites, I use the article distribution sites above to research my topics, then write my own content in my own words based on my research

Also, try www.wikipedia.org. Read their license, you can republish their content as long as basically you credit them.

One of the reasons I hopped on the Domaining end, was due to my previous work in content development and SEO for a Web Designer. My area of specialty is music, but I found myself writing and organizing for topics I knew very little about.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=229101

My recommendation is to write about, or begin a site about an area you are most familiar. You may ask yourself as someone who visits a site, what makes you want stay and linger more than a few seconds, or better yet bookmark and return again?

For original content I would suggest either writing it yourself, or pay someone (my rate was $15 so it is likely you would find someone for this hourly fee) For a low cost solution? Cross marketing is excellent who do you know whose field of expertise would fit the site.
