Country name domains

Hi,
I've just been searching around some not very well known ccTLDs, and have found several country names available in the extention. The countries are not those tiny islands, but ones like Israel, Iran and others that have recently been in the news or with large populations.
Anyway, what I was going to ask was do you think it would be worth registering these names? The registration fee is around $50 per year, so do you think that Israel.tld or Iran.tld would be able to make the money back, undeveloped?
Thanks for reading,
Harry Truman.

I do not believe that a country.ccTLD (not by the same country) holds much value if the specific ccTLD is not popular.
Unless I had vested interests (such as developing, which we all say we want, and never have the time to do), I would stay clear of exotic ccTLDs for country names.
This is just my opinion, best of luck in whatever you decide.

Thank you for the reply seeker, I think I'll hang on for a while before registering the names, maybe see what others have to say about it.
Thanks again, rep added for your time.
