About Selling...?

So I was considering selling my website, www.pcwebadvice.com, and I need to know how to do this.

First I need to know how dn transfers work, how much they cost, and if it screws up the site in any way shape or form.

Next I need to know how to transfer hosts without losing any of the data from my site. I will need the user that buys it to use their own host because I am hosting off of my mothers account and she will be using it for quite some time.

If anyone could help me figure these out I will give rep.

To transfer the domain at your domain register I found this link:

To transfer your site without losing data, you would just need to save all the files you have for the website, zip them up preferibly, send them to the new owner and he/she will just unzip them in their new hosting account.

There will be a slight downtime when you switch hosts, it always happens.

Well the link you sent is broken. Also, do they have to backup MySQL databases. How does all this work. I would be really afraid of missing something and breaking it.

The buyer would just need to have his own hosting account that supports SMF. Most host will support it using Fantasico or something. They would just upload all your files and viola
