Why did I lose pagerank?

Hello,

I run http://freewallpapers4u.com and today I noticed that all the PR tools out there are reporting 0 PR for my site. I used to have 4. I currently have over 1000 pages indexed in Google.

Anyone have any idea of what could have happened?

Ta

Google hasn't finished updating yet. The two sites I checked your PR on still show it as PR4.

You just need to wait a few more days while Google finishes updating and everything stabilizes. The predicted pagerank I checked also shows PR4 to PR4 so don't give up hope yet, I think your site will still be PR4.

B33R is right. This usually happens when Google are in the midst of updating.

Sometime ago, I had my PR5 disappear. Even after the page rank updates were complete, I only got a PR4. But after several months, the PR5 was reinstated.

So hang in there!

Roughly how many referrals must you have to determine page rank?

every four months or so...the updates are usually unannounced.

Page Rank is essentially determined by the number and quality of links to your site. So, if you have several sites with high PR that link to your site, your PR should go up, depending on the PR of the sites linked to yours.
