.us domain, alvalible or not?

GoDaddy says it's not yet name.com says it is, there is nothing at xxxxx.us and a ping says there is no host there?

I believe .it needs a presence in Italy.

Ok thanks, I think I will go register my first .it at europeregistry.com, their about £25 cheaper than GD
