Parking question ?

I own couple of domain names at (cheapnames.com) ... do the domains automatically become parked or do I manually have to do it ?

If so, how ? (anyone had experience with cheapnames.com,etc)

Do you mean namecheap? I think they park it when you register a name(just a simple page)

When you register a domain, the name servers are set to the registrar's if any unless you specify otherwords.

Yup .edu, depending on the registar usually they change the name servers to theirs unless to are able to enter domains prior to registration of domain.

Most registrars allow you to alter the DNS.

Unless otherwise specified, most registrars park the domain for their benefit on a page in which they get self advertising or pay per click. These do you NO good at all. Services vary as some allow you to customize the page, a free single page, or to forward the domain elsewhere, or set the DNS to your own or others servers.

If for sale, you can always list and park at afternic.com or sedo.us. and get some benefit from any traffic yourself.
