tough decisions

I have a domain I've sat on for a few years (well I have a few others as well).

spells.us

I've been debating if I should develop it. The question that happens is what.... I could go with an email site and let people get addresses there. Things like (examples and not real) expertadvice@spells.us or thejohnsons@spells.us (examples and not real) .....things like that could be catchy.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/domain-newbies/209000-tough-decisions.html

Then I thought about perhaps domain hosting. People could have subdomains.
like pcrepair.spells.us ...or liveforumchat.spells.us ...or domainhosting.spells.us ..........etc etc. Subdomains can be cool too.

The possibilities for both ideas are endless. Then again I could just go sell the name too. Not positive on the value there but its obvious to me it has some potential. That's the problem though. I keep renewing it for a few years or whatever but either dont make the time....or when I do, I get that creative block on the direction it could take. Then again, it could take both directions too lol.

I originally got that one along with a few others at the same time (one of those intro deals). At the time I was one of those online gamers and I was thinking RPG type things (like magical spells or EQ things.....heck, I even still have the mages.us too and cant bring myself to be rid of it yet).

So.....what to do? I guess some advice for a domain owning newbie. Maybe a different idea that I havent thought of. I dont need spam for places to have it developed...names are nice for me to research on my own.

I've been a professional network tech for the last 6 years (prominent company) so its not about the technical side. Its about the financial practicality or best direction to take. Some domains sell better with traffic already going to them. For others, they'd rather have no traffic (because they're going to revamp the entire idea in a new direction and would rather have targeted traffic or something).

......ok, now what. Develop or sell? Reasons for either? Dreaming big or a goldmine? Best advice and direction to go, or "good luck" ?

*and yes, I'm reading FAQs and other things here. I'd rather see a direct response while I digest that other information, and bring myself "back" up to speed with things again.

I would suggest to develop it. But, this time make it a US-English dictionary site (with instructions). It will be useful for foriengers to understand US-English and they will learn how to spell each words in US ascent.

Welcome here. I noticed it's your first post.

It's a good name, develop it if you have time.

I agree that the best thing to do is develop a site on this domain and I like the idea of a English dictionary site too... although with your gaming background, maybe a "word play" site such as a spell game + word generator game/tool might be a cool way to drive traffic.

Regardless, it will take some time and money to get this site developed to the level where it would have consistent traffic (like any website)... so, that may be something to consider before you start the process.

Interesting concept.... translation site.

Will have to research that a bit........not exactly a topic I am too familiar with (such as software involved....and im not a linguist).
