![]() | Confused on where to extend my domain name registration So I recently purchased my first domain name from an individual. He transfered it to me on enom.com. The registration is set to expire on May 15th. On Enom, it looks like it is roughly $35 to extend the registration for another year (my site is currently vacant). However, on GoDaddy, it appears to be only $7. Should I transfer it there? The problem I am concerned about is I hope to be creating content for the site within a month. It doesn't appear that GoDaddy is the best for hosting, so at that point I guess I would have to transfer the name again to a third company? Am I understanding this right? Can it be done? And generally, what is the most highly recommended hosting company here? Sorry for being so ignorant. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/domain-newbies/195396-confused-where-extend-my-domain-name.html Thanks for the help. Tlop |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I would start the transfer to godaddy or namepros now. The transfer should complete within a week normally so this will not effect creating content. When you are ready, buy hosting from an outside company. You do not need to transfer to another register. Then simply change your nameservers to what the hosting company tells you to(ask them if you don't know how to). Then upload your files and the site will be up. As for what host you should use, check their history(how long they have been in business and reputation), talk with other clients, learn about support options, check uptime and make sure there are no catches. Just do alittle research on them and make sure you can trust them. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=195396 If you have any more questions, let us know!
