Lightbulb Phone Bid?

I'm new to selling domains, actually i've never even sold a domain yet! I have quite a few, and usually only invest if i know that they are or will be worth something.

Anyway i woke up today to a voicemail on my cell stating from someone stating that her client was interested in one of my domains. I've already recieved bids via sedo and email before that i declined.

Are there any general rules that some of the more experienced sellers could pass down with negioiating over the phone? Would these people generally have more to invest if they hire someone to try to aquire the name? If i'm not satisfied with an offer do I walk away or say i need time to think about it? Etc. Thanks!

This is a nice topic for you:
How to Find Potential End Users?

It quite ideal if you find more possible end users and set up an open auctions. This will increase its value. Good luck!

Yes, they usually have much more to invest if they hire someone to acquire the name for them. Over the phone... get them to make an offer, keep saying 'looking for offers, dont have a set price..' until you get an offer from them. Then say I was looking for 5 to 10 times that, and go from there. Don't be afraid to get them hanging up with no deal, they'll come back by email or call later.

agreed, the fact that they called you shows that they are probably willing to go to some length to obtain your domain name.
If everything is legit, ask them what they are willing to offer and go from there, but I would probably set the price 3 times their offer and negotiate from there. Once things seem like they are falling into place, you may want to use an escrow service to finalise the deal.

Congratulations
