TLD rankings

Which is better? a .cc or a .ws domain with the same name before them?

Opinions are very varied.

My personal: .cc

(Managed by verisign, overall higher sales for pure domains, great keywords still available, no MLM scheme on ebay , etc.)

But many others love .ws

Neither one are stellar thus far, but still we wait and we wonder

.cc seems to hold more value than .ws, even if .ws is cheaper. Dot cc "looks" nicer and "dot double you es" is hard to pronounce

Not to be crass, but isn't this kind of like saying which tastes better - boogers or poop?

If you need to ask you shouldn't be regging either ext... stick with CNO.

If you must, then .tv, .sc, and .nu seem to be doing well right now.

It's always difficult to compare many of the ccTLD domains but .cc is the way to go when compared against .ws. I've noticed many more sales from .cc.

.cc seems to have the edge, since it seems closer to .com than .ws does...

Generally a .cc would have a slight edge over .ws but I would personally prefer a .ws name if I had to choose between .cc and .ws.

To me, .ws makes more sense than most other ccTLDs. Ignore the fact that it really means Western Samoa (and that some guys tried to run a get-rich-quick scheme); .ws says "website" to me.

I could say, "Visit the Dinosaurs WebSite at Dinosaurs.WS!", and your average Joe would remember the URL. What would I say for dinosaurs.cc, or .sc, or .nu, or whatever?

.cc name works same as .com name, both are called top level domains, so .cc have a edge over .ws.

.ws has always done well for me and it's cheaper to reg than .cc ($9.99 at Godaddy).. but I have a soft spot for .cc as well (tho I don't own any atm). I'd reg .ws over .cc.. the buzz is that it's .WebSite to most..

Sorry, am I the only one who doesn't understand this? Are you saying that .cc is a top level domain but .ws is not?

The latest Newsweek has a small story about tourists who stay in lighthouses ... there's a reference to the website lighthouse.cc. First time I recall seeing a .cc in the major media. (But I still prefer .ws!)
