I think that domainsite.com is probably one of the cheapest sites around. They offer them for $6.99 per year.

Yes 1&1 is the cheapest I know ($5.99), but I would still recommand Godaddy, which is a bit more expensive but offer free push ($7.95 at the moment).

Are you sure you want the *CHEAPEST*??? Yahoo and Ipower now have specials at 2.99, *HOWEVER* we don't want you come here and whine about the problems you're gonna have with these.

don't touch yahoo + 1+1 + some others ... there are many warnings you can find on the message listings
read the reviews as suggested above and find a quality registrar eg godaddy and namecheap.

you get the domain and ability to change nameservers, push the domain, parking page and a few other things. Its very good value for money.

I agree, if you wish to develop the name then you can register it from cheap registrars. If you intend to sell, tranfer or push the name in future then better go with a reliable and reputed registrar.

I would stay away from Yahoo completely. Too much redtape to worry about. Stay with a registrar like NameCheap, Godaddy, Moniker, or Enom.

yes indeed. if you develop with yahoo think of the problems you will have if you want to move to another provider at a later time.

Yahoo isn't VERY bad. There are few 'rules' you'll need to follow in order to be on the safe side:

- do NOT register EPP-based domains there (i.e. com/net ONLY), because Yahoo will NOT give you EPP-Authcodes;
- don't forget to delete transferred out domains from your Yahoo account (as they call this - 'cancel the plan') once the transfer is finished successfully.

Well I consider domain registrars like eNom, GoDaddy and Namecheap reputed and reliable.
