![]() ![]() | Domain transfers... Lets say I win an auction and I get the domain... the registrar is from some wierd registrar.. lets say stargate.com When I win the auction, would I have to set up a startgate account or could they push it to one of my enom, namecheap, or godaddy accounts?

![]() ![]() | they would have to push it to your stargate account if the domain is registered at stargate

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | You have two options: 1. You need an account with the registrar in order for the previous owner to transfer (push) the name to you. If you don't have an account you can create one mostly free OR 2. You can request the transfer from your own registrar and waiting for the losing registrar to release to your registrar. Your registrar would normally asks for the renewal fee for another year. |

![]() ![]() | So my best bet would be to just register free at the site where the domain was registered in the beginning? And why can't a Stargate domain be pushed to like Enom or NameCheap?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | You don't have to stay with that registrar. For example: Networksolutions charges $25 per year. It's cheaper to do it somewhere else. Different registrar has different policy. I don't know about stargate. They may be just a reseller? |

![]() ![]() | I'm just using Stargate.com as an example because I regged my domain there. But let's say I wanted to push x3k.net into my Enom, NameCheap, or GoDaddy account, would it cost me any money? And my other question, if I won an auction and got a domain from someone from another registrar other than Enom, NameCheap, or GoDaddy, could they push it into one of those accounts? And would I have to pay for anything at all?

![]() ![]() | No no no, I have the accounts already... but would I have to pay any money if the domain was pushed into my account? Basically, I'm asking if I would have to pay for anything at all if a domain was pushed in and I DID NOT renew it?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Sorry I did not read your question clearly. Ex: you bought a domain name: xxx.com from another seller and the domain name is at namecheap.com. 1. If you have an account with namecheap.com, the seller can push the name for you free. If you don't have an account, you can create one for free. 2. Suppose you have an account at Godaddy and don't want your domain name at namecheap. You can initiate the transfer from Godaddy and wait for the seller to approve the transfer. It will cost you the register fee for one year $7.95 (which will be added to your domain name). Am I making myself clear?

![]() ![]() | Sort of I guess.. so basically it would cost money for someone to send the domain over to another registrar? so like if I sent x3k.net from stargate over to my namecheap account, it would cost me money? and is this the same way with all pushes? ... but its better if i go for auctions in which the domain was registered at one of the accounts in which i registered with tho, right? god.. im confused.. kill me now, please help johnn lol

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | You're killing me. The seller just transfer the name to you. It would not cost him/her any money. I gave it! It's 11:00PM and I have to go to sleep! Can someone give it a shot and explain it! |

????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=16843 Let's instead say you wanted GoDaddy to Enom ... you would "pull" it over to your Enom ($8.95) Reseller account and be assessed the one-year renewal fee of $8.95 (at Enom), the process would take approx. 48 - 72 hours. These are (not free/different Registrars) "pulls" versus (free/same Registrar) "pushes". Once you do a couple of each, you'll quickly get the hang of it, IMHO. You can buy some of my domains to "experiment". ![]() J/k.

![]() ![]() | BLEH thought you were serious there for a minute, lol. I can only imagine how many domains you own. With Enom, I don't have a reseller account. I just registered a free account, is there a difference?

![]() PS. BiG difference between a basic Enom account and an Enom Reseller (pricing the most notable) account, believe you have another thread on this now?

As previously mentioned, the ($8.95) Enom Reseller accounts are free ... only when you plan on registering/renewing/transferring will you need "Enom Bucks" (converted from the min. $100.00 refill). Okie Dokie?
