Drop domains - Overture question

Well I'm not a newbie to domains but I am to the drop name services. Can someone tell me which ones are the best.

Do you pros reg your domains with many companies to increase your chances? Say 4 or 5 ?

Also, do the Overture with .com extention counts really mean much for pending dropped names? Are those numbers from people just checking the Overture count the month before?

Thanks
PM

Drop services/Snap services/Back Order services :

In this order I believe as far as recent catches go...

www.Pool.com
www.SnapNames.com
www.NameWinner.com
www.GoDaddy.com BO

Overture can be tricky as far as #'s with ext. I wouldnt touch one unless it has 100+ to be on the safe side.

Righto. In utilizing all of the services Tippy mentioned, you put your best foot forward in attempting to secure the desired domain name, IMHO. There still are no guarantees, of course. The "auction" settings of both Pool and NameWinner may put you in a situation where it is a bit less advantageous price-wise than say a fixed-price SnapNames, but you can opt out of that auction if it's above your pricing level(s).

REAL traffic stats are far more meaningful than Overture with the extensions, in my view. If viewing for dropped domain purposes, I , too, would view these as a complement to other research (not rely on alone) and perhaps choose a minimum number, as mentioned. If it's a huge number, however ... that's a good indication that there (and searched for specifically) was something there on the site previously.
