![]() | Best place to register domains? I hope I didn't make a big mistake my useing yahoo to register some domains. What sites are best if you plan and try to sell the domain in the future. Also I read something that said I have to wait 60 days to transfer my domain to another register. Is this the case for most place? |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I think Yahoo is fine. If you like the price and the user interface then you are fine. When you start buying a lot of domains you will need to be able to forward and change whois and nameservers so keep that in mind. I use (and resell) GoDaddy services. Look around my site for more information for newbies. Sedo and Afternic for sales but I think most sales come from buyers finding you. The 60 hold is ICANN mandated and applies to every registrar. After sixty days you can request transfer out from your new registrar of choice. Good luck and read through my site. I address a lot of these types of questions. Rob

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I recomend Godaddy.com or here at Namepros. Godaddy.com is the most used domain registered service, so it is very good. Namepros.com helps support this site and there prices are very competitive also. You can transfer it to any Enom account. Yahoo is fine, I actually have 1 there... But if your going to resell it, don't register it there. They don't have free transfers, it cost money to transfer the domain. But if your developing the domain, thats fine.

![]() ![]() | I use Godaddy and Enom. Registering at Yahoo is ok if you don't intend to transfer and resell and the 60 day transfer restriction is applicable to all registrars.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I use: Namecheap: very nice. 7.99 for a domain if you use "save7993", Registerfly: kind of unstable nowadays, I have 30 DN there but will not get any more there. Quite nice otherwise, a little expensive if you don't catch their promos though.... Domainsite: Cheap domains with their basic service + cheap .infos /Irkasmork |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Godaddy. I keep all of my domains there so that I don't have to deal with forgetting about a domain. However, that being said, I also have an account with FoxRocket because I have purchased a couple of domains someone who had the domains regged there. I don't have much experience dealing with FoxRocket, so I can't really say much other than their interface is nearly identical to GD's.

GD thinks about themselves as the Internet police. Just study (read is not enough in this case) their terms/policies and THINK about what you have read... And, even after this you will even consider to do business with GD, something is really wrong with you... Namecheap, DirectI, Moniker, Stargate. 4 names for all you'll ever need in domaining. Good luck! | ||||

![]() ![]() ![]() | I agree..... GD should be the place people are moving out of, not into. I use enom and directi and plan to use Moniker for some names in the near future.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I like namecheap since they allow Paypal payments. They have a powerful control panel, nice service. As for Godaddy, I've had problems each time I had to call them and will not use them in the future. I'm trying to complete a $500 transfer and they won't allow me to transfer the domain because the contact email was changed within the last 60 days... it's been registered since August with no changes until I updated the email. Very annoying.
