| NamePros Regular | Can I ask a question I am newish to the name business. Could some one tell me a bit about the drop auctions. This is just my opinion- but some deleted names that show up for instance in dleetd domains and just dropped com seem to be as good as some of the names being auction at snap names. Why dont these names end up at places like snap names? Or have these names been auctioned and owing to various reasons have not received a bid?? I hope someone has the time to explain to me. Happy Holidays. |

| Senior Member | I do not understand it fully either maybe someone can help us out, but my understanding (gist of it) is that it expires and the registrar gets to hold it for awhile, then the registry gets to hold it for awhile, then it pends delete then it drops

| You're Fired! | Droped domains are when someone has a domain then doesnt renew it when it gets expired then it get droped after about a month maybe 2, then when people can back order it, if more then 1 person back orders it at a site like snap names they put it up for auction, who ever has the highest bid at the end of the auction gets the domain. If I am wrong plz correct me |
