i dont liek that, due to the fact i have too many of them and it would cost me my left nut to do that, and by spreading them out its more secure, im only at the major registars,..if someone got into your account u may be able to cope with a small loss, but not the loss of every domain u own, but that indeed is a great idea and i tryed to keep them all at the same place when i started domains.

| I'll do it Technical Services | I have all of them at godaddy. So just logging into my account helps me to keep track of domains. I have some scattered here and there but right now I am not paying much attention towards them.

| The Swamp Fox Forum Moderator | I keep them listed in the ole mind upstairs (and subsequently forget them all the time) so I have a nice list on my desktop in word format. I'm thinking of upgrading to Excel but laziness is certainly a factor.

| Domains my Dominion | IMO an Excel file could do, a MS-Access DB would be more appropriate. Some people already have a website for the purpose of listings their names and store everything in mySQL db, with search form in PHP etc. (check my sig )

| Senior Member | I use Watch My Domains Pro. Not the greatest, but it works. I believe there are a few other programs available.

| NamePros Regular | If you know how to work in MS Access and are able to make a nice interface that's the best option. I started using Access myself, but now I'm using MS Excel. Every now and then I have to add a column for some interesting information I'd like to store. That's way more easy in Excel. If you have implemented a nice interface in Access and have to add something to the DB you'll have to spend some hours rebuilding the interface. Before spending hours to list every domain in Excel you must think about what kind of information you are interested in saving: Domain ID Domain Extension Expires Registrar User name Password Hand reg/Drop/Buy Money spent buying/regging Money spent renewing Money spent marketing Sold? Money received when sold Offer received Offer received from? When bought? Parked/Site/whatever it resolves Parking income/Adsense income ...and so on... Most important is: learn how to use excel! how to sort lists, how to do a search, how to replace, how to add together text, how to split text, how to make macros.. Make yourself a sheet for Adm. Total spent on domains, a total of .com domains, total of .net domains and so on, a total of income, net income. I'm keeping track of app. 1.600 domains in my excel sheet and everything runs smoothly! Make backups!!! I also keep a print of all my account user names/password just in case I pass away, ends up in a hospital or whatever. I also have listed contact information for some of my "online domain brothers" in the region. Just so my relatives can pay for renewals, sell my domains and/or get some advices from someone inside the business.

| NamePros Regular | I developed a quick and simple Access DB. I am going to do a whole new one with more features once I have more time. Also I still tend to like to have a paper trail and will be making a filing/binder system. I am attaching the original MS Access DB for free use. If anyone is interested in the Binder system or newer version later, just PM so I can email them to you when they are completed. Best wishes! Jonas

| NamePros Regular | For those of you using Excel: Is there a way to integrate anything that will access and insert Whois data like nameservers and exp dates into the spreadsheet? I have 1300 names and am using Excel now. It works, but I'm testing Watch My Domains for the Whois data. But, I don't like the search and other features of this program, so I'm wishing I could just use Excel still. For those of you using Domain Trader: Looks like a good program, but will it provide the Whois information for each domain and let search/sort on it? I just found this $29 script: http://www.dnproduct.com. Anyone every try it? It's simple, but seems to have most of what someone would require. I'd gladly pay $275 more dollars for Active Trader, but it doesn't have multiple categories per name and DNProduct does. What I'd really like is a script like ShopNames.com has! |

| NamePros Regular | I guess I'm out of the majority. I keep all of my domains registered at 1 place, as I've been pretty impressed with them. No hassles, and it's easy to use. Of course, as someone else stated above, I don't enough to worry about either, right now.
