Sedo Keyword Optimization on Parked Domains

Hello,

I have just started and have bought 50 domains (one has to start somewhere, so I am treating this as start-up capital). I have them parked at Sedo.

It has been about 5 days so far.

However, I am getting almost no hits, and not a single click-through. The total earned is $0.00 so far. While it is still early, I was hoping to have earned at least a few cents by now, so as to get some datapoint about the trajectory.

It appears that I have not understood keyword optimization well. For example, in my signature below, I have the following names :

2008electionnews.com
cancercurenews.com
plasmatvprice.com

What are your opinions on the best keywords to use for these particular domains, for example? I don't think these are bad names, but I have yet to make even my first cent on them.

I realize that asking for this might be giving away a few ideas, but I am willing to let that happen at the moment, because I just want to make my first dollar, and learn from there.

Parking at Sedo, or any other domain parking service, is best utilized to monetize existing traffic. It's not the best tactic to generate traffic.

It sounds like your strategy is to capture type-in traffic, which searching Overture data will get you an idea of the size of market. If it's not working, don't sweat it right now. You're only 5 days in and you've got a learning curve ahead of you. I suggest reading the forums and develop a long term strategy. It might require developing the sites.

Totally agree with tzmartin.

I have a few domains parked with sedo that I first set up as single page sites optimized for Google and once they were indexed by Google I transfered them to Sedo. They maintained traffic for a few months then started losing traffic as Google updates caused them to drop in the results pages.

I dont recommend parking at sedo. They wont get traffic since you are not able to do title and description. just the keywords.

BUT keep them there as listed. aslo list at afternic but I would park them elsewhere like domainhop or goldkey.

good luck,
