I forgot where it was, but it's possible to do a whole 100 year registration. You can always just use auto-renew feature with your registrar. But as far as I know, there has to be a limit somewhere.

I investigated this question all around about a year ago. The only close solution is Netsol with their 100 years registration. And if you don't mind their high prices but mind their stability and reputation - then go for it.

Normally the maximum duration for registration is 10 years I believe. But it can vary depending on the TLD.
Concerning the 100-year by Netsol, I would say
1. Who needs Netsol with their inflated prices ? They should wake up and realize their monopoly is over
2. Who believes the DNS system will still be there as we know it in a century ?
Let's get serious

The 100 year registration at NetSol is only $1000. Might not be a bad deal if reg fees do go up in the next 10-20 years.

1000/100=10. $10 a year for 100 years isn't THAT MUCH. Registerfly costs about 10/Year. The only thing is that with this 100 year plan, you don't get a discount even though you're buying it for so many years .

Considering a one year registration at NetSol is $34.99 a year, it is a discount for NetSol customers.

A couple points to ponder!
How many of us are
1/ Still going to be around in 100yrs
2/ Think that the primary communication means will be a Name based Internet in 100yrs

Renew the name for the max 10years ,even that is a long time-frame when it comes to the Internet and computers in general.
Most Registrars will renew for 10yrs for Less than 100USD

I would also have to say that 10 years is plenty. You have no idea what could happen. A new internet could come around where all these things you registered are no longer used, and a new system is in place.

I dont think that would happen... but, I would take this for example...
if you sell a domain.. do you include the investment (also registration fee)

In case you register a domain for a 100 years your selling price will
increase a lot...

Also, think about the offers on the net these days...
sometimes a company has a great deal...
in case you register it now for a 100 years you could not benefit from that
great deal on that moment....
