Question about PR

I have been wondering. What is the best PR you can get. I would think that a PR of 1 would be the best, but is that correct?

10 is the highest, and 0 is the lowest.

Google and all other big names only have a PR10...all the other players have PR9-8 max.

Namepros is PR5 i suppose!

Well Pr1 does not sell very good. It all depends on the buyer but to be approx. PR3 text link should sell for 10$/month to the interested buyer. then again..if your a true business person you may get more out of it..i hope you got my point. Best of luck.

Regards,

Admans.

The following is a rough estimate of what the PR of a domain name contributes to its worth, of course you should not rely solely on this information because even trash websites can get PR 3 easily and very few people buy domains solely on PR.

PR 0-2 > $10
PR 3-4 > $50
PR 5-6 > $xxx
PR 7+ > $xxxx-xxxxx

(WWW).NamePros.com PR5
NamePros.com PR4

Way too many people are Treating Pr As a Magic Number
It is only a way for Google to report the rankings of Sites they have indexed
It is none of the following
Price Valuation
($10 PR7 sites and $1000 PR1 sites can be Found)
{The near Legendary milliondollarhomepage.com is PR0}
ALL things being equal , Higher PR will bring a greater price
but usually the same things that got the higher PR also resulted in more traffic & Income for the site, increasing it's resale value.

Keyword Relevance indicator
(although good keywords will get you higher PR , But sites with lousy Keywords can still be High PR)

Too many people are faking the PR by URL redirection in the mistaken belief that somehow having a PR5 /PR7 will benefit their site . PR is a reward for good SEO ,not a substitute.

So, how do you increase your PR- Links, backlinks, SE friendly sites, all of that? Or say I have a brand new site, and right off the bat I got a PR link from someone with a PR of 0. Would that bring me up to a 3-4 right away? I guess what I'm trying to say is how do you increase your PR in the SE?

PR of 0? I think you mean 10?
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/domain-newbies/131194-question-about-google-page-ranking.html

Links from sites with a higher PR will help, but it's not the only thing that counts. If that higher PR site that links you has a thousand of other links as well, then I don't it will affect your rank a lot.

Spend less time worrying about PR and more about increasing Traffic and resultant value to your site by doing the following
1/ Content including Keywords
2/ Links incoming and Outgoing
3/ Promotion of your site in various ways, EMAIL,Forums , Ads , paid links
4/ SEO Friendly URLS

Then having done all of these , your traffic and value of your site will be increased .
Then as a reward ,at the next Google PageRank update ,your PR should increase.
