I guess it wouldn't hurt. It probably wouldn't get as much traffic as the singular form, but for some words, the plural is a better option.

charbar ..yes - why not?

Why not? Becuase if they can prove you did it for that reason, they can have the domain taken from you and transferred to them. You loose money you registered it with. It will cost them more to go after you, but they get it without you making a dime, and you actually loosing a few dollars (not to count headache, and alot more money if you fight them.) You can't register a name with the original intent being to sell it to someone else who has a copyright to the name or who is well known for its use. It violates what ALL domain registeries agreed to when they registered the domain (has to be refferanced to in registry's terms of use). That is in ICANN's Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP). See Section 4 Subsection b. It is hard (almost impossible some say) to prove this if you have a developed site, or have owned the domain for awhile. But buying it, then just trying to sell it...Not avisable

Just stay clear of brand names.

DNs you bought before the next big fad/name comes out IS NOT squatting. And there's even reasons to buy DNs that are similiar to a big tradename, because it's a different market (i.e., a fast food firm vs. a family website).

Just make sure you document what you're doing. And ICANN knows folks buy domains in the interest to resell them -- they wouldn't be in existence if that didn't occur!!

The plural name of the original name should worth a good bunch. Very efficient!
