The overture keyword suggestion tool gives you the number of searches done for specific keywords for the previous month. That is, the number of searches performed on the overture network. The higher the number, the more people that are searching for a term or keyword using overture's network of sites.
In theory, this can result in more traffic to your domain but that's not always the case. If you have an "Overture with extension" domain, that means that people are searching for the domain name plus the TLD (ex/ google.com). The chances of having type-in traffic on these domains are much greater.
You can use OVT "score" in diff ways. Depending on how much work you can/will put into this. If you have a domain (or domain containing phrase) with a high OVT score but without the .com you have a domain that can show great potential but needs to be developed in some form. Higher DNEI helps and is a (rough) measure for how effective your domain will be in competition with others. Basically, development is KEY if you don't have OVT including TLD. You need to develop this one. It doesn't include .com in OVT. Base the theme of the site on the keywords in the name. Work on backlinks from quality sites. Get affiliated. I also recomend Searchfeed.com for ppc ads. You can tailor your ads from them ina great way.
