how do you see if a domain is good

how do you see if a domain name is good or bad?i've bin trying to find otu but have had no luck so far

you check ovt results, if it's got an alexqa ranking you can also see how many link there are in google by searching link: domain.com and you can check the page rank(can be done with namepros)

I personaly only look for names i like,Havent bothered about links/ovt/alexa etc... (should have but dont)

You can check a few here.

www.inventory.overture.com (shows the keyword searches for your domain) If any.

www.linkedurl.com (shows you how many links the name has pointing to it)And page rank.

www.alexa.com This shows what traffic rank you are(I dont know how accurate this is)

There are hundreds more tools but like i said i dont use them to often exept for linkedurl.com

I like to use Ovt sometimes but thanks for the link to linkedurl. I have to say that I think Alexa is inaccurate but they are getting better.

A domain is good if:
1. It has traffic
2. Easy to remember
3. Easy to type
4. Short
5. Dictionary word
6. Name or last names of people especially common ones.
7. It's good a domain if you bought it for less than 10$

I use marketleap.com to check the backlinks. They provide also the evolution of the number of links.

How good the name is, depends on what its going to be used for as well. If you plan on developing the name, the biggest thing I look for then is the actual domain name itself, and don't worry about the OVT ect. But then again, that might just be me.

Yes, if you want to develop the name, just regardless of the ovt results! a short and good name is important IMO!
