Best way to list a domain on Afternic?

What is the best way to list domain names on Afternic? I'm not sure if I should list with just the minimum offer, the minimum offer and the buy price, or minimum offer, buy price and reserve. (I am having trouble understanding the reason I'd want the reserve).

I see that Afternic strongly recommends putting a price on it.

Also, I see most listing have minimum bids of $700. Is there a reason for this?

It is always suggested to list domains with a price, since not only will it attract a buyer if the price is right, it will also stand out from all of the other listings where people don't list the price.

However, I recently sold a name on SEDO that I did not have a price on. I only wanted a couple of bucks for the name, it was a bad reg and I was trying to get rid of it. I ended up getting an offer of $75. Had I listed a price on it, it probably would've sold sooner, but look what patience got me.

Why is it that it seems the majority of people list the minimum bid at $700? What is so magical about that number?
