sub domains your geting to use a piece of the domain. example would be you.yourwebhostingcomp.com which means you dont own it unless you own it. Domains you own.
A sub-domain is still a web address, except it's attacted to another domain.
No differance. Webhosts have the feature to choose how many sub-domains they want a certain account to have. Some hosts offer unlimited sub-domains while others only offer a limited amout, which is usual to persaude the customer to move up on account or upgrade to such things as features to provide them with unlimited domains! It's all about the money!
thanks guys...clear as crystal...just wonder why some host dont offer multiple domain hosting but subdoms...
guess its the money factor....or resell factor? or traffic?????
Multiple domain hosting is only avaliable through Resellers.
However, with shared accounts some hosts enable a Domain Addon feature through CPanel, which allows you to park another domain, but it has to be redirected to your main website. Not all hosts do though, for their own reasons. (I think I'm correct on this one!)
It wouldn't be anything to do with money, nor do I think it hs anything to do with traffic. All hosts are just different!
Lots of hosts do not have multi-domain packages because they know that many people want that feature. Therefore they gain revenue by people paying a lot extra to get addon domains. Its more of a marketing tool than anything, as it does not cost the host anything more to allow unlimited domains.
