Best domain extensions other than .coms?

I've just got into the whole domain registering scene... and had a quick question, sorry if it's asked alot be here goes:

What are the best domains to register besides .com domains? My guess would be that .net follows (& correct me if I'm wrong), but what are some of the best domain extensions to register for other than .com and .net?..... .org? .info? .us? Numerical lists of extensions in order of value would be great, even if opinionated... thanks!

depends what the name or site is about as then some extensions fit better, but without that information my personal preference is .com, .net, .org, .info, .us in that order, yes there are more extensions but currently that is all I am holding.

xxx has been approved but will be A few more months before anybody can registure them.I don't think they have A exact date set yet.

oh geez, i just heard about .xxx and cant wait to try to get a good 2-3 letter, when do you sthink its gonna be released

.info is suitable only for infomative sites imho
.xxx is for suitable for adult sites.

I really doubt that 2/3 letter .xxx will be worth much at all outside of the domain speculation market. 1 /2 word adult terms you can redirect to adult sites is the better investment imo.

Try and use a different name and get the .com .net, you will get alot more hits and it will get better rankings. I think it is worth it even if you have to change the name just to get the .com or .net or even better both! I might be able to help you get a new name if you want, but if it is a business then you should try to register the .biz. As said before it all matters on what type of site you need.

Completely depends on the geographical area you are targetting, for a local country-specific market, any country specific ccTLD will do..

exactly, a country specific tld to target your local market, may workout well if marked properly.. then a .com or other TLDs.
