Anyone here know what does the co in the .co.uk stand for?

for example .co.in .co.cn .co.nz
And the .com & .co is usually taken as meaning commercial

Because .co.uk is quicker to type and to be honest sounds better. Another thing, commerical seems more of an american term & I always think of co to be company as more of an English term

Yes co. is More often used as contraction of Company.
But commercial is also very much an English term
