How do you feel about names with "e" ? Like eConsulting, eBusiness, eAuto, eBlabla

Any opinions on importance, value, popularity?

The people at eTrade.com & ELOAN.com seem to have done well with it.

I think there’s a consensus forming.

I think it's fine, but only if it's used with a one-word domain (no more than three syllables). But to me, the only reason 'e' names exist is because the better domain name is already taken. So it's a second-best approach at best, but can be turned into a first-best name with massive marketing.

e is fine in a domain, i is also a decent option but only to short one word domains.

One must consider the $$$ spent branding the names mentioned above. No different than TravelO?ity or many others.

Well, of course these e-Names did not exist in our verbiage until they were marketed in profusion but I don’t consider many of these to be a lesser form of the primary word especially when considering the branding. For instance if bay.com had been the domain name used by eBay I don’t believe it would have achieved it’s unique and instantly recognizable identity as clearly as it has done. A person could sit on the dock of the bay or live in the bay area but when someone says eBay everyone knows what it means, I’m not saying that would have been the case without the marketing but it’s an instance that IMHO contradicts the use of eAnything as a lesser or second-best approach.
