selling at ebay

Are you charged for advertising things for sale on ebay, even for the most basic listing?

Yes, anything starting under 10.00 is a .05 listing fee, .05 for the BIN, etc. then you get a FVF taken out.

definitly i have sold hundreds of items on ebay and to me its one of the best sites there is. not only for sellers but if your looking for something you can usually find it there. no matter how obscure it is.

I am not so sure about that.

I have had some reasonably good results in selling domains on ebay.
For instance:
How much would you say MovieValley.com is worth? $35?
Sold for $200 on ebay recently.
What about InstantCurry.com?
I got $650 for that in June.

I wouldn't say these were exceptional names. It's about selling more than just a name. You're selling a business plan or an idea of future profit. If that idea makes sense to the prospect, you've found your buyer!
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=9454

Good luck

I used to be huge into the Ebay scene... and until recently I'd done very well for myself....BUT... things have since changed. They've (for some strange reason) burried any direct access to domain names. My listings went from getting between 200-400 hits to getting around 10-40! Needless to say - It was costing me more in the end than I was bringing in. I had to give it up for a while. Perhaps if Ebay deals with their obvious navigational issues - I will return. Until then, I'll take my chances elsewhere!

Good Luck

Jenn

For a good laugh check out Domain Names in todays eBay listings. Due to scams, fraud, theft etc eBay is currently having an image crisis w/ general public. I have had 500+ transactions there(no success w/DN's, however) and the general tone and the issues discussed in various eBay newsgroups has changed dramatically over past couple of yrs. as economy started having difficulties.
Regarding fees, beware of charges for reserve price. Made mistake once of selling item w/ hefty reserve w/o realizing that I would be charged regardless of whether or not item sold. Item didn't reach reserve price and when monthly statement arrived, I had a nice surprise.

I personally do not think that Ebay is a good place for selling domain names. It may have been good a few years ago, but a lot of people are now using Ebay to sell spams and ridiculous products (eg. links to rackshack.net for domain registration etc.), and it has greatly deteriorated the quality of the site. It is good for finding other stuff as pointed out by other members!

As for selling domains, I've had good success selling domains on eBay in the past, but its very hit or miss. Those listing fees add up quick if you names don't sell.
