SAP and trademarks?

Is it possible to have the name SAP in a domainname without being sued? For instance, a domain name called "SAP<forumname_or_something>.com"?

Im refering to SAP, the e-business software maker. www.sap.com

This really depends. It may well be worth trying. But you just don't want to do anything to steal their business or to annoy them in anyway deliberatly. If you stick by that you should be fine, but there is always the possibility that they may not like it.

If in the domain you were talking about the sticky stuff that comes out of trees, then certainly. Otherwise, it's on more of an individually evaluated question of fact as to what purpose the domain is serving for you. More info would help,

The $64 question is how you'll use the name.

Can't see much problem if you aren't threatening the business

I think most companies will leave you alone as long as they don't view your site as a threat to them. Registering something like SAPsucks.com might draw some attention from their attorneys.
