tld question

Hi

I am contemplating on few domains , which have availability as

.us
.ca
.cc
.biz

Which one of above should I consider. Meaning what is the order of popularity.

In some cases the domain names are available in .cc and .ca which one of the two is better

William9 is an unknown quantity at this point

tk That is a good question that has been asked before. The answer is that it depends on the name.

However, if I was to shoot in the dark, with the understanding that it depends, the .US and .BIZ in my opinion, shine twice as bright as .CA or .CC.

There are several reasons, reported average & cumulative $ sales that I have noted, number of registrations, and my estimated market potential.

Good luck.

As far as I'm aware only Canadians can own .ca so there are more potential buyers for .cc

Thanks William and all for the opinion.

I am mainly looking at the situation, where .com, .net, .org have already been taken. So only options available are

.info
.name
.us
.ca
.cc
.biz

I dont mention the others because they are very expensive and not as much popular.

From the post so far it seems. .us , .biz and .cc are good ones to consider in the order

Anyone else on above options?

How about .name. Does it score over .us or .biz

Well it seams there are different opinions on the topic TK so you should go with the extention you like best.

.us and .info (.info is more speculative at this point)
followed closely by
.biz
then further back
.cc
Way far behind is
.ca
.name

All IMHO.

Thanks hope for sharing the website.

.info being very cheap to register then becomes the obvious favorite for domain businessmen.

Based on the posts. the rankings would be
.us
.biz
.cc
.ca
.name

Try to make the site theme fit the extention. Informational site= .info, Business oriented= .biz.
I was just thinking about .US and the American public today. I had this imagery of .US being recognized and than adopted quickly- bam!- by the general public here in the states. The extention still needs a couple of high profile, well known companies ie Chevrolet.us, AmericanAirlines.us, (Southwest would also work), Harley-Davidson.us, Budweiser.us etc, to use the ext for their primary/central sites, (would love to see the .com redirect to the .us, hehe), and I think it might take off like wildfire. Could be wishful thinking, but it was a nice vision and not too far away from a possible scenario. Once the US public hits on something and the word get's around, things often move along rather quickly.

.us if in the us, otherwise the .biz. .cc and .ca aren't worth it because of the reg fee.
