Cool godaddy domains by proxy option for $5.95

godaddy is listing proxy registration service for $8.95 + $3.99 for the domain registration.
However the proxy option can be obtained for $5.95.
Select domain name.
Ignore Registration and Checkout Options which lists proxy for $8.95
Proceed with public listing option
Select show me deals.
Scroll down to domains by proxy option for $5.95.
Total for registration $4.24 for domain name + $5.95 for proxy - $1 discount for usa6 coupon = $9.19 total.

it is worth noting that namecheap is currently charging $8.88 for registration including proxy service, so that when it comes to re-registration of a godaddy name, it may be better to transfer over to get a better deal, as the godday deal only applies to new registrations I think

what does domain by proxy mean? I know what a proxy is, but does this mean that a proxy cannot access your domain name?

It means your identity is protected. Instead of your name, address, and email address showing, domainsbyproxy.com is shown as the registering party and you get an email alias of YourDomain@domainsbyproxy.com.

Ok, thankyou. If I ever get the money for a domain name I would use that. I have seen it before, but I never have the money for a domain name. Thanx for the discount code and how to get it cheaper becuase now the extra money can go to other parts of my search engine (I need a domain name for it before I start advertising). Thanx.

yes, you are correct. The best deal now is therefore to use the free facility on namecheap.com for $8.88 including domain registration.
