Question on major search engines' affiliations

Hello,

I'm working on a little script and I need to understand something:

I saw a site recently that showed all the major search engines that work together, are partnered or in some way affiliated with each other. Does anyone know where I can find a similar list of search engine affiliations?

Regards,
TraderOne

Hi John,
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/domain-name-discussion/85669-question-on-major-search-engines-affiliations.html

What does search engine affiliation have to do with domains? Try to be a bit more clear on what you want and I may very well be able to answer you.

Cheers,
Matt

I've been registering some expired domain names based on doing a "link: name.com" in google and yahoo with very limited success. I'm curious to find out which search engines:

1) offer the "Link: name.com" feature
2) and which search engines are identical for the above querry.

I should have more time tonight or tomorow to methodically figure those out.

That site is very interesting (beyond my imediate needs) and will be helpfull in determining which querries have identical results and why.

Thanks again,
John

Hi John,

Google, MSN and Yahoo, that I know of, offer the features to check the backlink.

However, Google backlink features won't really show you the big pictures.

MSN will, but won't let you crawl for more than 4 pages of link, so they left you kindda in the dust.

Yahoo "linkdomain:www.example.com" is the best(IMO) to really show what your linking network is...

Hope, that could help.

Cheers,
Matt

Thats a pretty nice domain you get there..

But submission, have nothing to do with rankings. You shouldn't even need to submit to Google to enter the index. It should follow a link at some points and get there. If you're not there even on "site:starwars.ws" query, just wait and stop begging google.

Don't forget that Google is a highly evolved form of robot and that you can't just get #1 for a highly competitive terms just by submitting your website daily....
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=85669

When you submit your site to google addurl page it is the same as
Code:
  if ($newsite NOT IN INDEX) {
    $google->spiderItSomeday()
  } else {
    // What the hell that annoying guy is doing again..
    $google->ImOuttaHere();
  }
Don't feed the beast.
