![]() | Need opinions on reseller accounts Hi, I'd like some opinions on reseller accounts for my situation. I currently don't have an Enom reseller account ($8.95 or otherwise), but I think I'd like to get one. I don't have very many domain names right now and the ones I do have are basically scattered around (Namecheap, GoDaddy). There are several domain names that I have in mind and am considering registering once I get a new registration account. I will probably never register a huge number of names, so I'm pretty sure a $6.95 account is not the best deal for me. Do you think my best bet would be a $7.95 reseller account from Enom? I'd like something below $8.95 because I would like to save some money on my registrations and then I could also create $8.95 subaccounts. And I'm pretty sure I want Enom rather than RackShack (which would save me money) because I know Enom has a great "push" feature making it easy to sell and transfer domains. I guess I just want opinions of what people think of Enom's $7.95 reseller accounts and if someone knows of something better for me. I know there's the GoDaddy $7.43 account available in the NamePros store, but I'm not sure if I'd want that because it's not a reseller account. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/domain-name-discussion/8173-need-opinions-on-reseller-accounts.html Thanks for any input. ![]() ![]() | When using the term "reseller" there are two meanings when it comes to the domain world. There are reselles of domain names, which most of us are, and there are resellers of domain registrations, which some of us are. I bought a GoDaddy/WildWest reseller account for $99 bucks/yr. The main reason I bought it was to get the $12.30 backorders and "personal use" $7.43 .com/.net.org & $5 .us/.biz name registrations. I realize the backorders are rarely succcesful but they are only one of two options left for backordering, that have not gone to the auction model. As far as using it as a site to sell domain regs, well there is a lot of competition out there. My retail price on .com/.net/.org is $8.95/yr. Unless I heavily promote it, it's not really viable. So if you are thinking of reselling domain registrations to others, an $8.95 enom reseller account is not going to be a great option, as you have to sell the regs at at least $9.95/yr to make any money. How many people will pay more than $8.95 for a reg these days? Just plug in any domain reg keyword to google and all of the paid adds on the side are for $8.95/yr or less. In order to make any money, as a reseller of domain registrations, you really need to have an enom $6.95 account. Then you can sell domain registrations to the public at $8,95(or whatever price you choose, as well as offer $8.95 sub-accounts to domain name resellers, meaning you make a small ammount on every registration sold by any of those sub-accounts. The issue with $6.95 enom accounts is that you have to load the account with a purchasing ballance of thousands of dollars. It's the way to go if you have the cash on hand, and are planning on spending it on domain registrations anyway. Also, there were at one time many people selling $6.95/$7.95 enom accounts on ebay and forums for much less than the initial ballance requirement, but I don't see that much anymore. As far as pushing names, Enom is very easy, just need the buyer's "Enom account user name". To push a name at GoDaddy/WildWest, you need the buyers name/addy/email addy. Not really much more work, about 1 minute's more inputing. So if you want an account for personal name registrations, but don't have the cash to load an Enom $6.95 account, then an $8.95 enom sub-account which has no cost to you, or a GoDaddy/WildWest acoount is a decent option at $99/year. Especially if you buy GD/WW backorders. As you save $8.75 per BO. $12.30 vs $18.95. Or you can buy just a discounted buyers account from a GD/WW reseller to get those discounts for usually $5-$10. If you want to resell domain registrations as well, then the Enom $6.95 account is the best way to go. Or a GD/WW account. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=8173 Hope this was usefull, Cheers, Sharpy

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Nice post, Sharpy! I recently obtained an $8.95 Enom Reseller account for my personal use in registering/renewing domain names. I've transferred a bunch in, and had the pleasure to "free push" several out with sales. Free URL Forwarding, VERY easy "pushes" (unlike GoDaddy), everything's $8.95, and SIMPLE log-in and management controls. Couldn't be happier. $6.95 Enom Reseller accounts would be ideal, but they cost a pretty penny (you'd have to do the math with regard to your expected amount of registrations, renewals, transfers in, etc). $7.95 Enom Reseller accounts are quite reasonably priced (see the "Advertising Forum" for the latest pricing on both), and again, one would have to do the math. I totally understand your post, Cindy ... and it's the way to go, and you can then consolidate everything into your new $8.95/$7.95 Enom Reseller account. $100.00 deposit is required to initially "fund" your account, and you can then replenish at will after that (naturally that $100 is yours to use in your "Account Balance"). ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=8173 Have a great domain day!

![]() | Thanks for the responses, guys. That was some helpful information. I have a related question. How is the GoDaddy $7.43 account available here in the NamePros store different than the GoDaddy/WildWest account that costs $99 per year? Thanks again. Cindy |

With the discount account available in the NamePros store, or any WWD reseller, you can register domains at the reseller's cost, at the reseller's site.
