Typo Redirecting

I dont know if this is the right place to put this but say if someone owned a popular gaming site.. and then another person opens one and registers a typo of the popular one and redirects it to his site.. is that allowed? can you get in trouble for it?

I've seen this many times and wonder...

Regards,
Jarrod

I'm not sure if you can get in trouble,it seems like it's a distant possibility..but most of us here have typos of things redirecting to Sedo/DomainSponsor and have never had any problems.

What would be the motivation to do this? Are you a fan looking to help them out? Many of these things seem to hinge on the "bad faith" distinction.

I'm not sure I'm reading you, I have no intentions of doing this. I am just wondering if you can or is their consequences?

Well I guess domains pointing to Sedo would be the same things because your trying to sell products and so on. It's all the same IMO.

Anyone else want to share their opinions?
