Question about sellers and selling?

I have noticed recently that a lot of people are putting domains up for sale but will not tell you the name. Why is that. You are selling a product. Are you ashamed of the name? If someone is selling me a product, I don't want to have to get in touch with the seller to find out what product I'm buying. I would like to know the product when I read the advertisment for it. Does it get more attention if they keep the name secret? I think more people just read over the ad and don't bother finding out what the name is. I don't want to read an ad that sounds good, only to inquire to find out the name is ihateyellowsnow.co.iceland.freezing.cold and they are wanting $1,397,864 or trade for the all the .net TLD's in the world.lol Can someone please give me a reason why this is and other opinions on the matter. Thanks

if someone asked for $1,397,864 for something as stupid as this: ihateyellowsnow.co.iceland.freezing.cold

and if you are reffering to people who do stuff like that....
then they are just plain stupid.

Oh. i was just using that name as an example. But twice this week in various forums, people will post an ad talking about how this name is so great with traffic. Then they say Pm me for the name. You're selling a product. just post the name. then when I pm them, the name turns out to be something like collegetermpapersforsale.xxx (actual name given) and he say he will take no offer less than $10,000. That is what the ad was for? that was a waste of my time. If the name was posted I would not have even bothered. I guess it just kinda bothered me that people don't include the name when posting a domain for sale. i guess they just have too much free time on their hands and need the attention from emails.

I fully endorse the post by bertwrld. This is just un-understandable that you place a domain for sale and don't reveal its name. Instead of inviting PMs for offers and limiting its value, the seller should ask for open bids, IMO. This will save the time and energy of both the parties.

Regards
