Indian Doamainers, How do You Pay for Domains at Godaddy?

I've already moved all my domains out from Godaddy, save one, which is due to expire tomorrow.

I was trying to renew the domain but GoDaddy wouldn't accept my debit card. When I called up my bank, I was told that every payment gateway must have an added layer of security through Verified by Visa.

Godaddy doesn't have that and consequently, my debit card payments are being declined.

Paypal isn't an option either because Paypal doesn't work in India anymore.

Fellow Indian domainers, how do you pay for domain renewals at GoDaddy? Can't use a debit card or Paypal, and something like a wire transfer isn't feasible. I have a domain due to expire in a day which I really want to keep. Transferring out at this stage is not an option.

P.S.: Now that Paypal refuses to actually work for Indians, how do you pay for domains bought here?

Why not? You can transfer out expired domains up to 42 days after expiry at GoDaddy. It seems to me to be by far your best option, transferring to a Registrar which accepts a payment method you can work with.

Thats quite strange. PayPal does work and you can use PayPal to pay for anything. You only cannot receive money from another Indian.

As long as you have a valid credit card linked to your PayPal account, you can renew domains in Godaddy or anywhere.

This is nonsense. Change your bank. 2 weeks ago i renewed a bunch of domains and paid via Credit Card without any issues.

Please understand clearly, PayPal does not allow you to send money to an another Indian PayPal account. You can send/receive money to/from any non-Indian account, pay for domain renewals in godaddy/namecheap etc... And you must withdraw the money within 7days or setup a daily withdrawal.

Hi Praveen,

I don't have a credit card. Never needed one, never wanted one. From what I've gathered, paying through debit card isn't possible through Paypal, but a credit card would work. Am I right in assuming this?

Yes. A debit card will not work. If you have a Credit Card then it will work.
