![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | expiry to drop - how many days? Can someone remind me, how many days after expiration does a name become available (assuming it doesn't get caught by somebody of course)? I had a name expire on Nov 6 and it still isn't available and still shows as registered to me. I don't remember it taking that long. |

While the name in grace (auto-renew) period the registrar can release the name into redemption at any time between 1 and 45 days past expiry. In fact the registrar could send the domain to redemption from day one, the grace period is a courtesy. So you need to start counting when the domain enters redemption period.

Tying in what the others said along with what you described, it sounds like the domain name's in redemption period by now if this is a .com. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | It's actually a .net. The status line now says pending delete, updated on jan 18. So I'm guessing that means it will be released on the 23rd, correct? It sounds like the wild card is how long the registrar keeps it in "registrar redemption". |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Thanks for replies. Does anyone know how long the registrar redemption period is for the major registrars? I know Fabulous is 33 days and Godaddy is something like 11 or 12 I believe. What about Moniker, name.com, dynadot, etc? |
