no arguing allowed under SOPA!!

if this is not sparking something against SOPA, i dont know what would....the "brain(lol?) behind this gets caught doing the same thing he is against??...but here is the thing...in reality, he doesn't even know what he is talking about/what he proposed...just some old fart politician with no clue....i would love to educate him!! :-)

...this is the cue to stop. People have been really worried with SOPA and won't it be just fair to prevent them from passing this as a law if the person who stands for it is a violator too?

For me it makes sense.

This articles says:
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/domain-name-discussion/743242-lol-the-author-sopa-copyright-violator.html

"it seems fairly likely that he is the only person on the entire internet who is actually paying to use a stock image (and he'd be an idiot not to)."

Let's make fun of the fact that he actually pays for what he uses?
So what's the point of the article? Is copyright violation wrong? Or is it only wrong because when done by someone who says it's wrong?

I'm not a fan of SOPA but does anyone question why companies like GOOGLE have spent so much time and effort against it?
It's not about censoring the web. It's not about freedom of information. It's a POOR attempt to look at what IP is. This is an important topic - whether you like it or not news media, for example, costs money to produce. That NEEDS to be funded.

This isn't just about R Kelly, 50 C and generic hatred for Viacom. It's bigger than that. We kill SOPA and PIPA... then what? Shouldn't we be looking at the "then what"?

Cancer Survivorship
LOL - that made my day!

Quote:
So according to the SOPA bill, should it pass, maybe I could petition the court to take action against www.texansforlamarsmith.com."
Someone tell that photographer he wouldn't even need to petition the court - just file a complaint and BAM! Donations (credit cards, paypal) shut off, site taken down, links to it gone. Buh-bye, Lamar.

Whatever idiot built his site is to blame. If you use an image on a CC license, include the attribution somewhere. Duh!(Oh and some of us DO pay for stock images.)

Which raises another anti-SOPA point: Maybe he/someone representing him gave the webmaster the content and told them it was perfectly OK to use the photos... knowing otherwise or naively thinking this was the case, doesn't matter. Anybody do websites where their clients supply the content? Anyone link to their clients' sites? Linking to and enabling infringing content = Buh-bye!

No, technology regulated by special interest groups manipulating people (politicians, the general public) who don't have enough technical knowledge to grasp the full implications.
