GoDaddy Domain Buy

I just had a GoDaddy Domain Buy Agent contact me via my Domain Sales Contact Page. So they do more than just send you an email to the whois.

Interesting. Thanks!

I sold one last week through them via an email offer, but nice to know they will take the effort to reach out in other ways.

annaSC is an unknown quantity at this point

Yes but the offer is still like $250.
Until you get a price quote don't worry about.
Most people buying domains still have it wrong.
They are all mostly idiots.

Opening offer of $250 is not a problem for me. It shows some seriousness. It's the $10-$20 offers that I mostly have issues with. I can't recall any $10-$20 offer which I have ever completed at an acceptable price.

Problem with Godaddy is the venue

GD has a reputation for being the Walmart of the industry

Inquirers going thru Domain Buy Broker (inquirers think they have more leverage b/c the domain is reg'd at G, same as the broker service) therefore have a mindset of thinking the asking price is a few hundred bucks at most

All domains held at GD are tarred with the same brush

Put simply: shoppers don't expect to see Gucci sell at Walmart or conversely some cheap 99c store on Fifth Avenue

The other side of that coin is that everybody has an account at GoDaddy, and most have confidence in them. So sometimes it's an easier sell. But I can count on one hand the amount of domains I have sold thru their Domain Brokerage.

But I tend to agree with your thinking, which is why most of my domains are not at GoDaddy, even if that is not the reason I transferred them out.
