Domainers New Years Resolutions

Next year i am going to be more pro-active and send out well composed emails to the relevant companies/individuals who can benefit from my names

I am also going to re-assess my prices and go with the attitude that most of my names are not the pot of gold we all seek and that if i can get a decent return i should be happy with that

What are your domainer resolutions ??

I'd like to get my portfolio of domains down to about 50 names allowing me more time to spend with my family and giving me a clearer focus as to what needs to be done with my time spent online.

1. Be more polite to people in general, including other domainers
2. Reduce my portfolio by half. I reduced by 20% last year. It was a huge struggle.
3. 2011 was a good year for me. So hopefully do the same, but never be afraid to ask for more money. Many people just feign poverty.
4. In one prominent blog, it said drop everything under $100 valued by Estibot. I'm raising that to $300 with exceptions (of course).

  1. To post less volume than Johname.
  2. To post less nonsense than Microguy
  3. To be more supportive of noobs than sdsinc
  4. Be as nice as Miss_chiff
  5. Find other members that I can aspire to be or not be
  6. Continue to point out the hypocrisy of just about every single domainer
  7. To not spill the beans about the special place that not everyone knows about
  8. To no longer buy domains for low $XX turn down offers of mid-high $XXX and then let them drop all in one calendar year
  9. To get my NP$ up to $1000 through various wagers
  10. Post far less in general - particular on topics that warrant no real time or need... such as .CO
  11. To actual leave when I say I'm going to
  12. Be a Business Member and retire my Defaultuser moniker for my other id so that I can leave without leaving (because I suck at the resolution before this one)
  13. Actually get people to view my blog for more than pictures of bagels
  14. Do something constructive with my time
  15. Redefine constructive so that it's attainable
  16. Organize a movement that has more relevance than Occupy (Cones and Glue)
  17. Make scammers work harder and buy domains they don't want. Keep track of the emails for posting goodness
  18. Start a contest to see if I get enough "dislikes" so that I can revert from Greatness back to "Has much to Learn" which is more accurate
  19. Write the book I want to write
  20. Read the books I want to read

Well, this is not unusual for a domainer, but I really want to develop as many domains as possible and sell the ones that don't bring money. I'm too much of a keeper when it comes to useless domains.

The most important thing that all of us want: increasing the monthly revenues.

Continue thinning the herd even if this means watching them drop and get bid up in the aftermarket.

I've finally got my buying under control over the last few years, but I'm still holding some questionable names.

I recently agreed on a contract for a three word name that I probably should've let go years ago for $1000. These always make cleaning house difficult as I'm sure all of you have experienced. Letting go is hard.

None the less, I still plan on lessening my total yearly reg fees this year.

Cancer Survivorship
- Continue to thin out my portfolio. I dropped a lot last year, but more need to go.

- Try to make more time to work on my own sites (which always lose out to my clients, but when I don't work on them I'm leaving money on the table)

- Not domain related, but I want to get up to speed on development for phones/tablets. (Was developing for phones/pda's back before the platform really took off - same mindset/strategy, different API's/tools)

- Spend less time in front of a computer of any kind!

Stop holding on to names to develop. I'm never going to get around to half of them.
I hate parking domains, I want them all to be used. Might as well sell on for someone else to develop...

My New Years resolution is to get back into the good ol' days of domaining (buying and selling premium domains). But also to develop a tool that can find me buyers as I realize that the reseller market sort of dried up over the years.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=741011

First I have to get rid of the overpriced junk that I hold, such as Lower.com. (Great for Lower prices, price comparison, Groupon alternative - PM me if interested in buying )

Then find a niche of domains and start looking for sellers that fit the niche. Probably between $1000 - $50,000 per domain name.
