Thumbs up Sedo News: No Minimum Commission On Parked Domains For ALL Customers

Yes, Sedo has lifted their game. Now, hopefully, I will sell a domain

The extensions that this new ruling applies to are: .com, .net, .org, .info, .biz, .us, .name, .li, .be, .dk, .de, .at, .ch

From: http://www.sedo.com/links/showhtml.p...44&language=us

Quote:
Flat Commission Extended to Outside the US! (02.03.2005)

NO MINIMUM COMMISSION ON DOMAINS PARKED WITH SEDO! – NOW FOR ALL US / UK / INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS!

Didn’t you always hate that little asterix saying ‘Offer only valid for US / Canadian residents’? Now, after another bumper month of sales, Sedo is delighted to launch into March by announcing that this offer extends to ALL customers of Sedo’s US / UK / International Operations team! That’s right, no more minimum commission on almost all parked domains.

So let’s just get this straight: you park with us, we pay you for parking your traffic AND we wipe out our minimum commission fee of 50 $/€/£! No wonder we’re the web’s most popular domain aftermarket. That means if you make a sale for € 100, instead of € 50 being eaten up by our commission, you only pay a tiny € 10 and have an extra € 40 to spend on Easter eggs. And, yes, this price does include all our costs: processing the buyer’s payment, our secure escrow services, and the same expert personal assistance with the technical transfer of your domain that our customers have come to expect from Sedo.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/domain-name-discussion/72953-sedo-news-no-minimum-commission-parked.html

So, if you haven’t parked your domains with us yet, now is the time to do it and join the biggest community of domain traders in the world.

Yeh, I typically still only get Reseller offers ($$$ amounts) there (several of these over the months) ... even for my (MHO) best domains, IMHO. They offer $xxx, I counter $xxxx ... and that's about it!
Just reinfoces for me anyway ... to GO OUT and find those relevant End users (on your own)!

Just my two sense, and glad to see some changes may benefit folks.

Wow... you register the domain for about $9.00 and you get offers for $xxx and you aren't happy? No-one wants to buy my domains (I only have 3 for sale)!

Please remember, I am OLD ... several of those were registered in 1999/2000 and at the time were via Network Solutions for $70.00 for two years (believe it or not, I swear it's true ... we used to send in checks for $70.00 with the invoices that they sent to us after registrations via snail mail)!

Add subsequent renewals fees, the fact that others have offered more for them in the past, and, really, what I (and others who may be in a similar position) truly believe them to be worth, and here we are IMHO.

No worries, I've got time on my side, and rubies in my naval!
Thanks.

Great news for some SEDO folk :-)
Also, reiterating my earlier complaint, I now have 13 offers that expired today without any response from the seller. I think that hurts all of us when some sellers don't even reply, then buyers are less likely to strike out for other domain names. Boooooo bad sellers.
I just pictured rubies in my naval and shuddered, as a side note ;-)

Reading between the lines:
You must "park" your domain with sedo (no Fabulous, no domainhop, etc..)

This means IMO, that sedo parking is not lucrative enough for them, and eaven worser, seems that the brokerage isn't either.
So they decided to focus on parking revenues sacrifying sedo brokerage commissions.
They should potenciate their so called "active marketing" that never ever was implemented to get out of this dilemma.

IMO this option is only interesting for sedo users if you have a low value and low traffic domain(s). And those domains sell better on forums like NP

Anyway, good news for users

PS:
I share the experience from "IAmAllanShore" concerning the bid problem.

Extending the minimum commission offer was a good move on Sedo's side.

Sellers not responding is problem, but what can sedo do to force the seller to respond? You'd think the seller would respond to all their offers as they want a sale-

Sellers should use the minimum offer field more often so they don't receive bids they won't respond to.
