Sounds like the reciprient of your e-mail doesn't have the authority to make that decision. I'd send an e-mail off to marketing if it were me. If you had a real person reply to your first email then that's good. I usually get a computer generated "We'll be in touch."

Good-luck. Keep us posted.

Marketing department, yum!

Did you get any names? It would be best if you could quote someone within the same organization or at least say something like 'Mark from adminsitration said to contact you about . . .'.

Also, let the marketing dept. know the benefits they'll recieve with your name. Give them a brief lesson how important such good names are in general and how great this name will serve them in particular.

"Causes" is a very generic word and I can't see where this would be a TM issue, unless that is thier business name.

The best people to market to are marketing people!

Certainly, write to the Marketing Dept!Who best could determine if your domain fits into their marketing strategy? If it does, let their marketing manager make the case for you!(ie.. to get the okay from whoever they need to,to begin negotiating).

Then find out who their largest donors are, and market to them. The buyer could enumerate the 'causes' they care about the most.

Let them contact you. It is not your duty to make everyone else happy. Yes, I think Causes is very generic as long as you dont try represent yourself as them. Just pick a different business avenue.
